Rovie is engineered with a privacy-first mindset. We believe your cinematic taste profile belongs entirely to you. We do not sell your personal information, nor do we run behavioral advertising trackers.
By default, your ratings, hidden movies, and temperature preferences are stored locally in your browser (LocalStorage). You can discover movies and explore recommendations without ever creating an account or transmitting personal identifying data.
If you choose to create an account or sign in with Google/Email, your ratings and curated taste graph are securely synchronized via Rovie Cloud to enable multi-device continuity. You can export or clear your ratings at any time from your Profile Vault.
Movie metadata, posters, and cast information are fetched via The Movie Database (TMDB) API. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. No personal user data is shared with TMDB.
Rovie uses essential local storage keys for interface preferences (language, temperature, session tokens for authenticated sync). We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.
You retain full ownership of your taste data. You can export your complete library to CSV or delete your ratings at any time directly through the interface.
